Two birds remain together on one branch while the smaller bird sits on another. It is still part of the same tree, the same family, yet already beginning to find a space of its own. The distance between them feels less like separation and more like the natural beginning of becoming independent.
Perhaps this is how growing up happens. We begin close to those who shelter us, and then, slowly, find a branch of our own. The bond remains, even when the distance grows.
